Diabetes is a serious, long term; medical condition characterized by high levels of glucose in the blood, in this condition body is not able to control the amount of glucose in the blood, glucose is needed by the body to produce energy, but too much glucose leads to serious problems. But too much glucose may cause serious problems. Glucose levels are mainly controlled by a hormone known as “insulin”, which is produced in the pancreas, in the condition of diabetes there is either not enough insulin is produced or the body is unable to use the insulin that is produced.
Type 1 – it is also called insulin dependent diabetes, usually starts in childhood or as a young adult. People with this type of diabetes produce little to no insulin.
In this type of diabetes there is little or no insulin production of insulin, it is one of a autoimmune disorders in which immune system mistakenly attacks the body itself with unknown reason. Factors such as viral infection or an injury to the pancreas may play an important role.
Usually starts as an adult, although the number of children with type 2 diabetes is increased. Those with this type of diabetes produce some insulin, but not enough, and the whole body cannot properly use it.
There may be appropriate production of insulin by pancreas but body is unable to utilize it effectively results in to insulin resistance, insulin production decreases and glucose builds up in the blood.
